Finally! it's back! I'm so happy!

Although, i have to agree with Empathic_Hero: i myself was almost expecting that Peter would let himself go. But it was still good episode. One of the best parts was probably when Peter went to the cab...
And i have to say, i think that i like Claire again. She was so kickass when she ran in the plane...
I can't really say that i would like Nathan right now, but mr. Bennet, in all his evilness is still awsome!

But just like PhantomLord, i thought that this was season 4... well, who cares, it's heroes anyway!  Grin

i thought he got the cryokenesis from falling on alli lauder's character...
Wasn't he still strapped to the seat thing though when he froze himself out of it? idk.
Maybe it's like in season one when Peter had no control over his powers and he has to like relearn now after not using them for so long, maybe he can only use peoples powers after he's touched then.
I think he's going to get a lot more control, and potentially a lot more powers if/when Ando comes to rescue them, and supercharges Peter.
And speaking of Ando, I think it's possible that he gas something to do with the fact that Matt can draw the future now. Like maybe when he supercharged him, it unlocked that potential power. Obviously spirit guy has something to do with it too, but yeah...

The one power that Peter is seriously lacking is common sense. You would think he would have learned from the last time that hugging family members is not such a good idea.

He didn't freeze himself out of the seat, he touched Mohinder and absorbed his super spider lizard strength, and then broke his restraints.

And speaking of Peter's power changing, I'm hoping that his power just isn't working right because of the drugs they used on him. They've already established how everyone's powers work. They don't need to go switching things up now. It's bad enough that Matt is starting to draw the future. Lord knows what Hiro's power is going to be when he gets it back.

I think peter's powers are different...he has a mix of his own and his fathers power...but only 1 at a time...that is why it was a big deal he had the ice powers...not flight or regeneration or super str, until mohinder grabed him, now he is back to super str...

I'm going to be seriously pissed if this is the case. As I've said many times before, I've been waiting for a huge kick-ass showdown between Peter and Sylar since the beginning of the show. But if Peter can only have one power at a time it just can't happen.

Peter with one power at a time would just suck.... Angry

Ok, this is the way i see it, Arthur took Peter's powers, all of them. It left Peter completely powerless, the formula Peter took is his new power, he can still absorb powers but only through touch, he lost his empathic ability completely, so I would imagine that Peter has Arthur's complete ability now, where he can use all the different powers simultaneously, but Peter isn't taking people's powers completely, so there's no telling whether or not he can even retain their power. Its still too early to figure out anything about Pete's powers except that he still can absorb powers. As for Hiro, He does get his powers back some how, it was in the preview for this volume, he was in India screaming "I Did It" in japanese in front of a bunch of people. Now if Peter finds out how Hiro got his power back maybe he can get back his empathic abilities and return back to his old powers...As far as Ando goes, i dont think he can expand people's power's just make their abilities work stronger, like he only made Daphne go faster, Matt heard the thoughts of the city... As for Matt drawing the future, I think that was all Usuntu, the only time before that Matt was able to see the future was when he went on his spirit walk, maybe the stuff he ate has some lasting side effects.....

I couldnt agree more!

I mean really, Matt can draw the future? I believe that once they have an ability, they stick with that.
He already has other attachments to his other then just reading minds, (mind control, illusions, etc)

And, im pretty pissed that they pretty much gave everyone on the show now abilites.
It was neat to see two of the few, Mohinder and Ando, be the only powerless people on the show.
Who's next to be injected? Bennet?

And thats another thing that pissed me off is Noah. Working for Petrelli, stupid stupid.
Im not sure if he was trying to keep claire safe or what, but i thought he was rid of the company.

I see where where Nathans going with all of this, and i can kind of understand, some people with
abilites can be dangerous...

But your own brother? You'd cast him off before your daughter? I was ahgasted at how ruthless he is, ever if it was sort of Peters fault for being an idiot and hugging your brother who Claire warned you about.

and people who you've worked on saving the world with, people who've been your friends. How could he do that if he knows all there trying to do is lead normal lives.

And is it possible for hiro to get his abilites back if theres no more formula left?

things i wanna see happen...

>peter retaining his Normal orginal abilites.
>Hiro getting his abilites back
>Peter and Sylar showdown, or Peter and Nathan showdown
>Where the hell is Molly? Bring her back on!
>Nathan revealing himself and or getting caught...seriously outting your own people...what a hypocrite
>Ando and Hiro together again
>A huge war between the heroes and the goverment... Grin totallly wanna see that

Okay, im done with my rant... =]

i agree with grim.  i think that peter has his original power of empathic mimicry.  he flew and saved nathan from the fire before touching nathan, only being in his proximity.  i think the only reason he touched mohinder is because of the drugs in his system inhibiting his power from working at full potential.

Great episode of a new great (I hope) season!!

Nathan isn't actually "one of them", because he has his power only due to the formula. He is right though about being afraid of people with abilities - just look at Sylar and remember Ted-the-nuclear-guy, and there's also Daphne who can steal all the anti-crisis budget before you can blink your eye Smiley
Another idea is that action causes reaction and we will see many rebels through this season, this "government against superpeople" was quite an obvious theme and I really hope that they make the best out of it Smiley

Cheers.

So, Sylar and Peter once again demonstrate why they need to be subdued.  Sylar because he's a psychopath.  Peter because he's a moron.  Today in the middle of battle he grabs powers he doesn't understand and uses them.  Result: a plane crashes and people die.

That's why Nathan's plan, although overdone, is necessary.

I have to say that I think it is harmful for young people to watch Heroes, because it shows you that all the good guys (Peter, Claire, Parkman) are stupid, but all the smart guys are evil. So, it comes to two choices: are you stupid or a baby-killer?  Cheesy

Or maybe Peter's not copying the powers like before, if he's not just simply that emphatic person anymore? I know, stupid joke.

I'm not sure was it the idea, but when the African guy said that Matt's a prophet, i was about to laugh. Honestly. of course it's nice that matt has something to do, but is feels like the real reason they gave Matt this thing was because they killed Isaac and African, and only now realized that there could've been more use for these guys - or only one of them, really.

I like Peter. i do. Really. But i can't say that this would get a little bit too far.
First off, with all those abilities, i somehow thought that Peter could sense of someone's roght behind his  back, in the first place (when Nathan hugged him). I know that he doesn't have Dale Smithers' power, but still.
Second, if i would've been Peter, i wouldn't have ever, ever hugged Nathan. What is wrong with him? Seems to me that Sylar has stole Peter's brains at some point, or then Peter just doesn't always know how to use them...

first as a big parkman fan I like his ever expanding powers (Maybe if he gets some more to go with telpath, suggestion, brianlock, and draw fut....he will be up there with hiro and peter)
second...can't see and draw be two diffrent powrs come on go just have a pre cog...

they are playing up the whole not haveing powers angle...

So sorry about the delay on this one...  I'm internetless and TVless this month, so I'm having to watch all the episodes of my shows online in fits and spurts as I steal internet from other people in the building at off-hours.  (But seriously, RCN, you think I'm going to pay over $250 just to have you hook up the services for 4 weeks?  Are you kidding me?)  Anyway, I know a lot of this has been said before, but I'm trying to post this before my wireless cuts out on me again... this is officially my third attempt.

Sad Slow start to the episode. And the Tracy-strip was completely gratuitous. I understand she's still a character on this show precisely because she's an acceptable age to be stripping down for the male viewers (can't have a 17 year old cheerleader doing that just yet), but come on. That was really just kind of silly. But it was nice how quickly it picked up once the commandos burst in to grab Tracy, and I can't tell you how happy I am that she's one of the first to be captured. Ali Larter works best when she's doing the Weepy Blonde Moment of the Week, angsty and bullied. She's not as much fun to watch when she's just being a smug corporate hottie.

Nice reveal of the chapter title. I like that they included the Hiro theme music behind it, too. Good way to start the next volume. And I love that Hiro decided to buy an old firehouse to use as their "lair"! Very Ghostbusters; I like it. Powerless Hiro is hysterical--I can't believe he shot Ando with a GPS tracker! This is the kind of antics I love from these two. (Cute leather jacket on Ando, with the red lightning bolt across the back.) What I don't understand is the fact that it's day when they enter the firehouse and night when Ando leaves... Was there a time lapse I was unaware of? And Ando is still an obnoxious friend, "Get yourself a different superhero!" ...but he's more than happy to take the jacket and motorcycle as he leaves his friend in the dust.

*sigh* Hayden is still sporting the wig (please have Claire cut her hair to match!), and now she's in bright pink lipstick. Really? This girl is gorgeous; stop making bad hair-and-makeup decisions for her! I'm getting supersick of Claire these days. She's just such a brat.

Very funny: the lyrics of the old song playing as Sylar picks up the watch off the counter. "In my heart, I have but one desire..." Eeek! I'm ecstatic he's not dead, though. Wouldn't be Heroes without you, Gabe. So now that he knows his deserting father is his real one, he's gone to collect some information from him? Nice. Although I take a little offense to him stating that there are lessons--like how to make tough decisions in life--that only a man can teach his son. Sure, his mother was a bit of a fruit loop, but her failings were not due to her gender. ...and we're still trying to guess who Sylar's dad is! New character, or established?

Still don't believe Matt and Daphne... They just look so awkward as a couple. And that was such terrible blocking when she turned away from him and he hugged her from behind, just before he saw Usutu. Awkward, awkward, awkward... And was the editing bad on purpose when Usutu told Matt he was supposed to be a prophet? Because his stick was up, then down, then Matt was here, then there...  And don't get me started on the malleable nature of Matt's power.  He seems to be able to do whatever the writers need that week...

I loved HRG's come-with-me-if-you-want-to-live Terminator moment with Mohinder in the parking garage. But I don't get it--he's working with Nathan to round up people with abilities? I know he has "Bag and Tagger" on his resume, but in the 1x20 future he was helping people with abilities to escape persecution. Has he really changed so much?  Please explain this character's current motivation, writers.  He was such a robot this week.

Hysterical! Sylar's real dad is a taxidermist. Dealing with preserving death every day. Or was the watchmaker really Sylar's dad, and he sent him to the taxidermist's place because he'd been contacted by the government to help them capture his son?  Sylar would have been able to tell if he were lying...  Unless Martin Gray's power somehow combats Sylar's truth-barometer.  If Martin even has a power...  So many questions!  And what a nice little battle we got when they tried to grab Sylar... He's definitely going to have to strike a tenuous truce with Peter in order to fight Nathan and the government.

Interesting little group of X-Men they've set up to crash land someplace. Though I don't understand why Peter needs to touch people to absorb their powers now... And I loved the obvious-though-silenced girly scream of terror from Hiro as the plane was going down.

Bits and Pieces:

    * Zeljko Ivanek plays The Hunter, the head "special person collector." He's fabulous, having been on Lost, House, Numb3rs, Bones, CSI, The West Wing, 24, The X-Files, and in a whole bunch of movies as well.
    * So nice to see Peter working as a paramedic. That's the perfect job for him.
    * What's wrong with Mohinder's voice?  Did anyone else think he sounded really bizarre in the cab?
    * "What advice could I possibly give you other than 'kiss my ass, Nathan'?" Nice, Peter. I love when these two have scenes together. Always a good time.  Though I can't believe how stupid Peter was to let his brother hug him.  I'd have said, "Sure... a hug," and then broken his nose and walked out the door.
    * I do not understand Nathan's motivation these days. I don't get his switch. I don't mind him being a villain, just please explain it.

Will try to comment on time next week!

I have to wonder if Ali Larter is realy insecure...I mean she is a good actress...not great, but good enough she doesn't have to walk around half naked just to get a job...or does the producer/writers just think she can't sell a scean with out being half naked??

I think in his mind he is NOT a villain, I think he considers himself nothing less than a world's saviour, he thinks of people with abilities as of something unpredictable and thus - dangerous.

I think there's a catch here, when Sylar asked if his real father was alive, Martin DIDN'T SAY A WORD. He just wrote down the address, Sylar's truthmeter might only work for talking. I think Martin is much smarter than he was shown.

I agree. Nathan's always been morally gray at best, but I think he thinks he's doing the right thing. He's been involved in some pretty complicated messes with powers, Peter almost blowing up New York, the virus almost being released, and the mess at Pinehearst. He's never been like directly involved, but I think in his opinion he's seem abilities go terribly wrong and sees it as his role to rid the world of people with abilities.

As for Sylar's father, we know that he is alive because there's an actor (but I forget who it is) who is confirmed to play him. So yeah.
