Episode 01 - Genesis

Well I have to admit that I absolutly loved this episode.  So many things were running through my mind.  To reply to one of the above posts about if Peter even has a power I think he does.  I think he has a pshycic connection to his brother.  If you notice when he had the dreams he thought that he could fly, but I believe that he was unconciouslly tapped into Nathans brain and was reacting to Nathans unknown powers.  I think that Peter was the only one who could show Nathan his true potential.

My favorite people have to be either Hiro, Claire or Isaac.  They seem to have the most potential.  Though Nikki is really freaking me out.  Shes got me thinkin.  I think her power has to do with some sort of like doppleganger.  Any replies?

Ya know, we were just re-watching this episode on Sci-Fi and something struck me as kinda funny. The powers that be on this show really messed up in their representation of the Odessa (and later on Midland), TX area. My wife is from Midland, it's where we met and got married. The piece that I find funny about this episode is where Claire's mom says something about going to the new mall in Gardendale. The "New Mall" in Gardendale is a year old Wal-Mart Supercenter. LOL Gardendale actually has a population of about a whopping 30 people, but it's close to Midland so they ended up with a Wally-World to take some of the pressure off of the other one in town.

Also, no mountains around Midland/Odessa...it's FLAT...bigtime. I actually never believed that tumbleweeds existed til I moved there. Had a laugh when I saw my first one. Heh.

has anybody noticed that mohinder's indian accent is much more prominent in the pilot than any other episode?

episode one was alright...i'd say about a 5.5 or 6 on a scale of 1-10. 

it was a little slow but that's basically how any good story starts off...they need to lay the foundation for all of the upcoming plot lines and i am a huge believer in building character development.  otherwise, how will we know which hero we love/hate/identify with the most??

anyways, i wasn't too keen on the way the kept jumping back and forth between characters.  i mean, i know that it was necessary to see their lives before their powers, but since i'm so impatient i really want to know how they are all connected to eachother already.  can't wait for the next episode...the previews were GREAT!!

I think the reason Hiro's power developed so fast was because he was willing to embrace and explore it. Claire seems to be very distraught about the change that this all is going to bring into her life, though her ability is pretty straightforward. It seems that Nathan didn't even realize he could fly until he had to use it.
