Random Spoilers, Season One!

http://www.eonline.com/Gossip/Kristin/Trans/Archive2006/060925.html

I saw the first ep of Heroes and loved it! What happens next?
In each of the next two episodes, a main character dies. Your heart beating again yet? Okay, then I'll go on. Greg Grunberg's storyline is fascinating (and a bit funny), and when you see a certain map in a back room in episode three, you can see that there are much more character possibilities (à la Lost's meat socks) on this fabulous little show.

Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

Nathan’s younger brother, a disillusioned nurse, will learn that he has the ability to absorb other people’s powers. But beware, Kring says: “He will be tempted whether to use it for good or evil.”

Eonline, i bolded the good parts

Quote
1. Niki has a tattoo. When Niki went bad (and bedded the Senator – meow! How hot was that scene?) we saw a squirly looking symbol tattooed on her shoulder. That is the sign of Bad Niki. I'm told Good Niki doesn’t have it.

2. Peter has a scar. (That’s what Future Hiro said.) And sources tell me this is because Milo Ventimiglia might be shaving his head at some point in the future of this series!

3. Nathan has a wife. In case you missed the casting memo, she is none other than Ed’ s Rena Sofer. And I hear she has a connection to Locke!

Now let’s get a little spoilery … (If you don’t want to know, skip down to the Tim Kring Q&A for less spoily scoop.)

The next episode will pick up exactly where this one ended (with the subway cliffhanger), and show the “message” they already teased in tonight’s promo: “Save the cheerleader, save the world.” (By the way, do you not just love that they actually show you stuff that will happen? So very un- Lost -y!) Now, don’t forget that painting that Isaac was painting of Claire, with a big, shadowy creature chasing her up the auditorium stairs … I’d bet good money that’s our man Sylar! And Peter and his superfriends will need to save her. (For  more on that, see Tim Kring's Claire comment below.)

Meanwhile, you know how Claire went all crazy (loved it) and crashed her rapist quarterback into the side of a building? Well, let’s just say that daddy (Horn-Rimmed Glasses is his name) is none to pleased with him either ...

And finally, Hiro is going to meet up with another “hero” next week, and it is, hands down, the funniest scene I’ve seen on any drama this entire season. You’re gonna die. And one of them is shirtless. And ripped. Gaah!

That’s it from me for now. But I do have a little extra special treat to leave you with! Heroes Creator Tim Kring kindly answered some burning Q's about the show, and here they are  …

Q&A with Heroes Creator Tim Kring

Q: What is the serial killer, the Sylar character? Is he something that is going to go through the whole season?

Tim Kring: Yes, Sylar will be the major villain for the first season.

Q: The people with the heads cut off and the brains removed -- I assume are not by accident.

Tim Kring: There is an M.O. that we are starting to become familiar with, and it does have a genuine threat to our heroes.

Q: Many people are saying that Niki’s power resembles that of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde? Are her powers along those lines?

Tim Kring: It’s a very safe thing to assume it’s a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde or Hulk kind of personality. But, we are leaving the door very open for new surprises.

Q: Can Claire die?

Tim Kring: It is safe to assume that whatever power she has emanates from some region in the brain that can be turned on and off by a switch. And there is eventually a clue as to why the major villain of the show is interested in her.

Q: You’ve said that they will not form a justice league at the same time there will be some sort of coming together beyond crossing paths is that right?

Tim Kring: Yes, as their destinies start to intermingle with one another, they form alliances with one another. And they start to figure out what is going on. Every character has a tiny piece to the puzzle, and the puzzle gets put together by the characters coming together.

During a conference call yesterday with reporters (including TVGuide.com's Matt Mitovich), Milo Ventimiglia dismissed the possibility of a Peter-Claire hookup. "She's in high school, she's 17, so that's going to be the story of Never Gonna Happen," he maintained. "At least not legally, for a while. There's a definite connection that Claire develops with Peter, but Peter has a connection with all the characters he comes in contact with, as a nurturer, caretaker." Meanwhile, Milo's TV bro, Adrian Pasdar, confirmed what I hinted at a few weeks back: Nathan's soon-to-be-seen wife, played by Rena Sofer, is in a wheelchair as a result of an accident. "There's a sense of guilt that has permeated Nathan's existence since this accident, which we get into in Episode 7. It's also an accident that shows something that we... can't really talk about too much. We get information from this accident on a few fronts, not just the one that explains why she's in a wheelchair."

http://tvmakesyoustupid.wordpress.com/2006/10/31/heroes-mini-spoiler-palooza/

I bolded some cool facts..

Quote
Zach, Claire’s scruffy geekboy sidekick, is gay and will come out to her this season. This explains his “No… believe me…” response when she asked if he was flirting with her, and his choice of words when asking if Claire is going to “Come out to her parents.” It also explains why he’s glommed onto her. How much more fabulous a best girlfriend could a high school gayboy in Odessa, TX ask for?

Nora Zehetner’s character, the anviliciously named “Eden,” has the power of suggestion. She speaks it, and the listener believes it is his or her idea. This makes a rewatch of her scenes with Mohinder very interesting, and explains Mr. Bennett’s line of “We both know you can do better than that” in this last episode a lot more meaningful. She will continue to supply Claire’s dad with information about Isaac’s visions of Claire.

Claire’s dad isn’t the bad guy, here, though he was set up as such. Not saying he’s nice, either, but he’s not hellbent on destruction of the heroes, he really does love Claire, and he’s not the reason New York becomes a crater in five weeks (if Hiro’s vision comes to pass). Think Stryker from The X-Men here. He doesn’t always do nice things, but he isn’t doing it to hurt people, least of all Claire.

By the way, for those of you who love to hate him, Jack Coleman, the cheerily creepy actor who plays her dad, has been upped to series regular as of episode 1.11, per TVGuide.com.

Zach is NOT going to stab Claire in the back as some people have speculated. In fact, he ends up in a heap of trouble because of her.

The eclipse is not what triggered everyone’s superpowers. Nor was Mohinder’s dad necessarily right about it all being due to genetics. In the coming weeks, we’ll start to see other theories emerge about what’s triggering these abilities in people all over the world - theories that have little to nothing to do with evolution. So Dr. Suresh may have been right about the effect, but not necessarily the cause. Were they the victims of secret government experiments? Or tampering from the future a la The 4400? Or something else?

Per an NBC interview, Greg Grunberg reveals that his character Matt Parkman failed the detective test three times because he has a secret about which he’s ashamed: he has dyslexia.

Niki killed DL’s crew in self defense - it had not been her intention to kill them all and frame DL (who really needs a new name, since “on the DL” is inner-city slang for “secretly gay”) but after the job was done, they turned on her and tried to make off with her share. She was in the process of laundering the money, which is why she didn’t use it to pay off any of her debts and was keeping it in the attic.

Niki’s id/ alter ego, Jessica, has super-strength. The question is - does Niki? Note my use of the present tense there - Niki is not dead (of course). However, who’s in control of her body is up for grabs

We’ll find out a lot more about Sylar and his connection to the Suresh family in Episode 10..

Mohinder will be back after Papa Suresh’s funeral (of course.) He finds the idea irresistable. And he may not be one of the normals - he starts having mysterious yet meaningful dreams.

Nathan’s wife is physically incapacitated from an accident for which Nathan feels responsible. We’ll learn more about this in the future eps, and someone may see Nathan fly - a liability to his campaign that may need to be dealt with.

It is a fact that Isaac does not need drugs to access his visions. He will discover this in Episode 1.08 and gain better control over his powers (and possibly finally kick the habit?) His paintings only show possible futures - not absolute ones. So what happens in his visions can be changed. By the way, we will not be seeing Isaac shoot up on screen any time soon - NBC execs have ixnayed that, and has shown concern about whether or not they’re glorifying drug use.

We will see Future!Hiro as an intermittent recurring character, though his actual existence is in the “distant future” (whatever that means).

From EW Cover Story

Quote
The [November] episodes are headlined by the "save the cheerleader" story line, which culminates at Claire's homecoming dance on Nov. 20. It won't involve all of the series' scattered heroes, though; Kring says they won't team up until the season's final episodes. However homecoming turns out, it appears that Claire will soon have to hang up her pom-poms. "Cheerleading [and] high school get left behind," reveals Panettiere. Claire has to make a transition to a new life." Sweeps will bring more drama for Nathan as well: Rena Sofer joins as his wife on Nov. 6, when viewers will learn a surprising secret that sheds light on Nathan's dalliance with Niki.

On another crucial front, genetics professor Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy), one of the few characters with no superpowers - at least, not yet - makes some surprising discoveries about his murdered father's research into the mutant world and the helix-shaped symbol that keeps popping up. He's heading home to India, which means that Ramamurthy will finally shoot a scene outside the shadowy, clue-cluttered apartment belonging to Suresh's dead dad.

The first half of Heroes' season comes to a close on Dec. 4 (new episodes return in January), and by then, viewers will have learned how most of the characters discovered their superpowers, along with Sylar's identity. (Hint: The Scrabble value of the actor's name exceeds 10 points.) Everyone involved is predictably tight-lipped, though Pasdar does offer this teaser: "Things get fairly dark in terms of who I might be. It's an amazing ending."

Theories
Quote
Theory #1
The Current, official operating idea is this: In times of profound Global crisis, forces of nature produce new kinds of people that can deal with the world's problems. "But we reserve the right to change this theory as we go along," says Kring, suggesting that scientific or maybe even extraterrestrial intervention is possible.

Theory #2
Nike is triple timing as serial killer Sylar. Its a popular notion among fans, but as larter points out: "I dont even think of her as having powers." Nonetheless, kring calls the Sylar-niki connection "very viable." The Nov. 27 episode, which reveals the roots of niki's schizoid nature, will settle the matter

Theory #3
Horn Rimmed Glasses doesnt want to stop the human evolution - he's just trying to slow it down so the heroes can grow into their mutantdom. "Interesting," is all Kring will say. Whatever his plan, you'll see H.R.G. "get stressed out" during sweeps says Coleman. "He's trying to put out 100 fires at once"

Theory #4
Hiro changes the future just by racing through time. But if thats the case, hasnt he already saved New York from Disaster, per The Butterfly Effect? We'll find out this month when Hiro's rules of time travel are explained. And Future Hiro's sword? "It becomes a major part of the show," says Kring.

Theory #5
Niki's son, Micah, is creating the entire world in his head. There's also contention that an unseen comic book writer is behind all the action. But Kring swears there are no "Its a snow Globe" moments in store. As for Micah, Larter says he has powers, she knows what they are, and she aint telling

Speaking of Peter...

Remember when "Future Hiro" told him he looked different without the scar?  It's entirely possible that the painting that Nathan destroyed shows how Peter gets the scar that "Future Hiro" was talking about.

From Joanan: Heroes dish, please!
If you think Peter is the only one who dies—you are sorely mistaken, my loves! There's a big death coming up in the next few episodes that is such a fantastic twist (the way in which it happens) that you will literally leap out of your seat and hit the wall. (I suggest you get padded wallpaper for this one!)

What's next for Peter on Heroes?
He's gonna lose Simone but gain a whole heck of a lot of powers. By the time this season is over, Sylar won't seem so scary after all.

    * Simone and Isaac are so totally getting back together. Santiago Cabrera (Isaac) tells me this of the long lost luvahs: "We are starting to come back together. That’s something we can promise, that you will see us together again because the whole thing kind of disappeared." Adds Tawny Cyprus (Simone): "Love is a very powerful thing. Even if it is a broken love."
    * Isaac is smitten. "Isaac is in love with Simone. He thinks that being with her is the best thing, but there are a lot of things that have to come into place. It is interesting for Isaac because you will see a new side of him--getting off the drugs-- but we still don’t know how that will manifest itself with the paintings. Will he control it better, will he paint better things?"
    * Mohinder’s smitten, too. "I think Mohinder and Eden are already in love," Sendhil Ramamurthy (Mohinder) says. "Or actually, I think Mohinder is certainly taken; I don’t know how Eden is feeling about it. She’s a complicated girl – she’s working for the dark side!" Ah, crap. Darth Vader’s on this show now, too? And speaking of fahthas...
    * Mohinder’s father could be…alive?! When asked whether Erick Avari, who plays Mohinder’s father, will show up again in a dream or nightmare, Sendhil says, "Yeah, you’ll see him past last week’s episode certainly." And when asked if Daddy Suresh might still be alive and hiding out somewhere, Sendhil stops dead in his tracks, gives a canary-eating smile and says, "Interesting…"
    * Hiro is in Texas! "I am definitely somewhere in town," Masi Oka reveals of his time-traveling character’s whereabouts at the end of the latest ep, adding that he’ll definitely make it to New York City by the end of the season. "That is our journey. One way or another we all make it to New York." We’ll also definitely see Hiro’s love interest (the waitress) again, which makes me happy.
