This kind of relates to the TV tread and I thought it fit better here than in the "Off-Topic" tread..Ultimatley its the Mod Squad's decision.

Boondock Saints

I just saw this, and had barely heard of it, and I thought this was a great flick, and that got me thinking.  What are some other great films out there that I might not know about, or what are some great films that I normally wouldn’t think of picking up but should.  I figure we could start a list here and people could check it out before their next trip to the video store...so here we go.

Boondock Saints
Hero
Fearless
Excalibur
Clash of the Titans
Ong Bak
The Returner
The Specials
Galaxy Quest
Better off Dead
One crazy summer
Clue
The Corrupter

i know a movie it came out last year but it is called tamara. It kind of shows like carrie but it much better!!!!!! I love it. I don't know if this is the type of moive ur talking about but if ur just looking for a good moive to watch "house of D" starring robin willams was good as well. It's the first movie with him in it that reminds me of when he played in the moive "jack". the guy that played mulier from the x-files is in it two. But it was a good moive over all.

Any movie that might be under someone's radar is fair game here.  I just saw The O in Ohio, which was a very good indy film.

Some that come to mind are actually Asian movies.  Since the US can't come up with anything 'original' nowadays.

Oldboy - A twisted, emotional thriller.
My Sassy Girl - Fun little comedy.

If you're not into the subtitles stuff, they are being remade in America.  Ultimately they'll probably suck unless they can pull off a "The Departed" (which is also a remake of an Asian movie).  Defnitely recommend those films though, if it's your thing. Cheesy

i got another one stranger then fiction with will farrell also tagllagda nights the ballet of ricky bobby was also good. There was alot of good moives out last year that didn't get much reviews as being out there but most B movies go unrated end up being better then those that have more air play to them making them known. I know there hasn't been a moive in a while that made me cry and if it does then its a great moive in my book. the only moive that made me cry, was a b moive call sherrybaby (starring Maggie Gyllenhaal * she also plays in stranger then fiction*). Here is a description *Sherry Swanson returns home to New Jersey after serving a three year prison sentence. Eager to reestablish a relationship with her young daughter, Sherry soon discovers that coming back to the world she left behind is far more difficult than she had planned.*

Oh you KNOW I'm chiming in on this one!
The Zero Effect (an EXCELLENT Ben Stiller flick)
Fearless (Jet Li's swan song was quite good)
Masters of the Universe (Okay it's dated, and very cheesey but Courtney Cox and Frank Langella?! Come on!)
More to come later...

The Professional-Gary Oldman's performance is a classic.

Yes Rainbird comes from Firestarter, that is why I chose the name.

I just watched a movie called BRICK.  It stars Joseph Gordon Leviett and it's brilliant.
