Heroes is currently on hiatus. The series was renewed for a third season of 25 episodes and will air on Mondays at 9 p.m.

It will be interesting to see whose contract gets renewed and whose does not.
While most of the cast is safe, the newer characters seem destined for a short shelf life.
I thought West brought some new young blood to the group, and Elle has possibilities.
Having both Nathan and Nikki return will be pushing the limits, however. 
While I think it's good to have a "core" cast, it is also important to refresh the group, as any reader of comic book superhero teams can attest.

The focus will obviously be on villians this go around, probably having them hunting down the heroes one by one (for Sylar?).   Kring has avoided joining everyone together into one cohesive XMen-style 'team', but I don't know how he avoids forming a mini-Justice League at the outset to combat the villian threat next season.

Here's a list of further Season Three spoilers (although how far these are confirmed, I do not know)

- Monica will take centre stage as a story arc about her being St Joan unfolds.

- Right from the start of we will know what the big disaster or major plot line is. And it will probably be linked to something small that we already know about from this series.

- A new villain named Knox who returns to his native city of New Orleans, “the criminal territory he used to run before he was sent to prison.” This puts him directly in the path of Micah, his great-aunt Uhura and Monica Daniels.

- It will focus on something other than The Company this time.

- We will see more younger generation heroes.

- The return of some characters from the Season 1 (like Claude)

- David Anders ( Adam ) said he will be back, this means he’s not going to die in Volume 2

- Micah’s storyline will end also

- Zachary Quinto (Sylar) will be more bad ass then ever and when we come back he will kill a star on the show

- Villains is the start of something bigger for Heroes and hopefully it will be more fast pace then Generations (Volume 2).

- Ali Larter will return to the show (as Kristin at E!Online has already reported) but are planning to wrap up her storyline up in Volume 3. (eitor’s note: Also, there are rumors floating around that Ali Larter’s evil alter ego Jessica will be a part of the Volume and not Niki.)

The third volume of Heroes, “Villains’, will air during the second half of Heroes Season 2.


So far we cannot confirm whenever we will see Volume 3 at all because of Writers Strike.It’s confirmed that there will be some changes because of complaints from critics and fans.

Despite the fact that Tim Kring is accepted these points as “mistakes” gives us good reason to believe Heroes will get even better.

Season 2 is broken into at least 2 volumes if not 3.Volume 2 ends at episode 11. and Volume 3 starts with Ep 12 & 13 setting up the rest of the season.

I love the idea that Jessica will enter the realm of Villains. . . . Great Reason to bring her back. . . But we also don't know how many personalities she may have. . . and DAMNIT she may just find the control she so looks for. . . I also think this will also provide a bit more back story to Sylar. . . . Giving us the ability to feel for him. . . . Using villains. . . . the past might be explored and allow many holes to be filled. . . . a way of turning the camera from one story, and then seeing it to a different angle. . . .

These aren't new just old spoilers that are convinutly but together.
Most of this was promised before the wirters strike. though I'm pretty sure most will happen though.

If you watched, Sylar came up behind Mrs.Petrelli? Will she finally reviel her power? Oh and Sylar kills some new kid, and It looks like Mrs. Petrelli is in the inner workings of the company

but volume 3 looks good anyway
