hi HG...long time no talk!!  *hands waving in the air*

i know that you are backed up with a lot of questions at the moment and, although i am just as interested in seeing those answers, i also had a quick one of my own:

i've always wondered...why the silent 'G'?  WHY?!  is there special significance for it?  and, if so, please enlighten us humans?  why not just be a HELLISH NOME

Ataray is quite correct the "G" in Gnome actually does stand for garden. You see a "Nome" is a place is Norway (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nome%2C_Norway) so in order to prevent people making the quite understandable mistake of confused the two we put a "G" in front standing for "garden". "But wait!" I hear you cry, "If "G" stands for garden then why do people say Garden Gnome. Isn't that the same as saying Garden, Garden Gnome?" Well smarty pants, why is the actual name of New York city New York New York? Got you there.

Hell was overcrowded for a bit in the mid 1700s. They were making admission stupidly easy; you could get sent down to the 3rd level just for not saying "Bless you" when someone sneezes! Because things got a bit out of control they've tightened things up now. You have to be pretty darn sinful to get in nowadays; like beating up a pregnant woman with a blind guy's leg or putting someone's hand in warm water while they're sleeping (that SO works, by the way ). So no, don't stop killing people. We're doing great on the soul count at the moment...looking forward to seeing you there when you die, though.

You know like gnome serial killers and thieves? If there are, are they given time in hell jail or given death sentences?
