From what I understand, it was some kind of Persuasion power.
Would you all agree?

But then I thought, does his knowing Angela's liking of the song and her missing the prom have something to do with his powers?
Maybe it was something related to memory?

Actually it looked to me to be the same power that Matt has...telepathy. At one point he did seem to know what Angela was thinking.

But when Charles did it, he didn't tilt his head and get that buggy eyed look on his face that Matt always does....

That's why I ruled out Telepathy and thought about persuasion. Plus, he told them out loud to forget it rather than think it the way Matt normally does.

Actually Peter did close he's eyes when he would teleport or time travel.
I'm not so sure he'sa telepath. I also got the idea of some sort of pursuation, like he commanded them to do it. What about the time he appeared to Peter in a dream kind of thing? Maybe he can alter reality...

Or maybe I'm thinking to much into this...

Yeah you're right. But there's a big difference between closing your eyes; and pinching them shut, and straining like you're constipated....

Charles` powers does definitely resemble Persuasion, but at the same time it's clear that he was able to read Angela's mind. So Charles may be one of those two people with dual abilities, in this case Persuasion and Mind Reading, or maybe is a telepath just like Matt and Maury except he uses his abilities with such finesse that it looks natural and effortless, unlike Matt who needs to visibly strain himself to use his ability.

I think that you're right. I just watched "1961" with commentary, to see if they would say what his power was, and the editor said that:

I've always thought that Charles power was like Peter's power (or like Peter's power used to be). I remember there were some things he said in Season One that led me to believe that:
When Peter traveled back in time to Charles rooftop he said something like "Invisibility, I always wanted to try that one."
Anyway, I remember a lot of speculation about that way back when I first signed on to this site, and that was just the consensus I formed.

He did say that, kpatrik and that makes perfect sense. Maybe he will be seen in another flasback and we will see just exactly what his powers are.

If his powers are only telepathy, I find that to be a tremendous let down.  They've been dangling Charles in front of us since the beginning, does he have a power or not, he was part of the company so he must have a power, but what, and now its only telepathy.  Don't get me wrong, I think it's an awesome power (its the power I'd most like to have, actually), I just thought Charles would've been more...original.  I read above someone said that they thought it would've been similar to Peter's, that's what I was hoping for also.
