I know that many of you guys may not be familiar with the full extent of Iceman from X-men's powers, but I have a theory. Read the following info and the theory will be below that. Smiley

Known Superhuman Powers: The Iceman is a mutant with the superhuman ability to lower his external and internal body temperature, projecting intense coldness from his body. Like any normal human being's, the nerve centers for regulating the Iceman's body temperature are found in the part of the brain called the hypothalamus. However, the Iceman can mentally override his hypothalamus to allow his body temperature to be lowered by an unknown internal mechanism. This ability converts the latent thermal energies in and around his body into an unknown form of energy that is efficiently dissipated. A related mutation has rendered his body tissues unaffected by sub-zero temperatures. The Iceman can consciously, immediately lower his body temperature from its normal 98.6 Fahrenheit to that of -105.7 F within the span of a few tenths of a second.

As his body temperature falls, the surrounding moisture in the air that is in contact with him is similarly lowered. Just as condensed moisture forms frost, this moisture forms an icy covering which encompasses his entire body. It also obscures his facial features. When the Iceman first began to completely lower his body temperature, this covering took on a more snow-like appearance. But as he learned to increase the severity of his coldness, the covering assumed the consistency of crystalline ice that it has today. This ice constantly cracks with any movement of his body, and immediately reforms. (Hence, there is a cracking sound when the Iceman, covered with ice, moves.) Through practice, the Iceman has learned to control the intensity of his coldness, and he can selectively lower the temperature of isolated parts of his body.

The Iceman can use his mutant ability to freeze any local air moisture into super-hard ice. This ice can be formed into any object of his choosing: the only limitations are his own imagination, his skill as a sculptor, the amount of available moisture, and the ambient air temperature which determines how long his ice sculpture will stay icy. He does not have to hold the ice physically with his hands in order lo shape it. Apparently he can simply direct the waves of coldness he projects in certain ways so as to create ice in the shape he desires. In the past, the Iceman has formed ice-ladders, ice-slides, ice-shields, and ice-bats.

The Iceman is able to form a rising column of ice beneath his feet, capable of lifting him off the ground. The tensile strength of the column is determined by its thickness, and its steadiness by how well it has been braced. A well-braced and regular column, 6 feet in diameter at its base, is able to support his weight without toppling for about 85 feet in a 20-mile per hour wind. By forming long ice-ramps connected either to his ice-column or to an existing structure like a building or a bridge, the Iceman is able to travel above the ground by sliding down the ramp he is creating. Unless he creates supports periodically, the ramp will crack beneath him, unable to support their combined weight.

Theoretically, the Iceman has an almost unlimited supply of moisture at all times since it is always present in the surrounding air or environment. Even desert air has sufficient moisture content for him to make practical use of, although the process takes somewhat longer. However, the mental effort needed to employ his mutant power can eventually fatigue him and render his freezing ability temporarily disfunctional.

Like that of any trained athlete, the Iceman's ability to perform is directly related to his daily physical health and current mental state. Under normal conditions, he can usually form ice continually for a period of about 3 hours before becoming exhausted.

I think that Tracy will return. Iceman later discovered that he could liquefy himself and also 'break' much as Tract did when that evil crap-licker shot her. So....In theory, I do belive that we have not seen the last of her. Also, she had the whole "Here's a tear and my eye moves!" scene.

It does seem likely that she will return. Otherwise that scene with her eye is a very creepy scene if he's truely dead.

However I wish that scene wasn't included and she was killed off for good. Not that I hate her, just I think characters that die should stay dead as it destroys often a really good written death scene. For example, the last episode of a Buff season, Buffy sacrafices herself instead of killer her sister to save the world, a beautiful scene. But she gets ressurected in the next season which absolutly slaps her first death scene in the face.
I want to watch Heroes again in the future thinking "This is a very sad scene where Tracy dies, she went out in style" not "this was sad at the time but it's ok, she's not really dead and she (possibely) dies later on. Looks quite cool".

I'm happy with the Daphne exist. Second episode she gets shot and you assume she's dead and it's like "eh? so early in the season". Her proper death feels more right, though a part of me still thinks she hadn't really done anything so far apart from Fed Exing Andro to Hiro, and making Matt get emotional.

Yeah it's pretty obvious she'll be back. But what I really thought was cool was just that she had a superhero moment. I think it's a nice effect when you have a comic book type super hero tale being told with immense realism, and then deliver a moment that's the stark opposite.

After sneezing like crazy because of Daphne's death, i can finally think sane again. And no, i don't think that she's dead. Although the eye-thing loooked a little...fake - but that's what it is, so - i think that the idea was cool.

But how come Danko arrived so late that he didn't freeze?

Well, anyway, the effects were well done. The whole place all frozen...so awsome.
And it was cool when she said "Try to stay in front of the ice" or something.

A friend has a  theory that Tracy will turn into liquid and reform her body from that.

I disagree with him thought. I don't think she can control water particles, only ice.
Anyways, the ice scene was badass! We need some more of those!

Well if you watch the episode with commentary, the writer (Bryan Fuller) says that:

So I think your friend may be right.... Wink

In the graphic novels we have already seen people who can transmutate to water then back to flesh.  I've been long awaiting someone like that to appear in the show.  They have already paved the way for it so to speak and said that in the Heroes Universe it is possible and has happened, just not with ice yet.

The whole scene with Tracy under the heat lamps and breathing out the mist I believe, was to show that the heat lamps weren't really hurting her, but actually helping her get better control of her powers.  Though they were keeping her prisoner it really wouldn't have been that long until she broke out on her own.  Danko is really to thank for increasing her abilities and making it possible, if they had not have show that scene I would be doubting too whether or not she could go from liquid to flesh.  But knowing that the whole time she was prisoner her powers were greatly increasing, it makes it more believable that she's reached what could be called "omega level" powers.

Sorry to use and X-Man referance but it is the only way I know to explain it.

Of course she'll return, in not as Tracy than as a one of the other "clones".

i was originally thinking that they had killed her so the 3rd "Clone" could be brought in later on. But i'm guessing she's not died. Anyways, its cool that her power is stronger. I wonder if she will later be able to turn from ice to liquid to solid again.

THANK YOU! So very much.

They are not clones, but triplets.  The only unnatural thing about there birth was that they were given powers like Nathan.

Still can't wait for Tracy to return with the knowledge that her powers have grown.

Maybe when she was stuck in that heat room, her power just had this huge overload.

Or her powers just developed.

That's true. She did say she was working up a 'cold snap' and we saw it firsthand! Smiley

That is what I think.  The heat lamps helped her develop it.
