Due to the recent break up of Milo ventimiglia (peter), and Hayden panettiere (claire), Hayden refuses to work with Milo on the set.

If you had to see one of these characters go, who would you rather leave and why?

I personally think Claire, because to me her character has just gotten more annoying and
emotional. (Tho she toughened up a bit since last season)

And, because Peters my favorite character =p

Claire. I find no meaning in her charcter anymore. Sylar got her power, so now she's useless. I think that rebel tring to contact her to help others is the writer's way of keeping her charcter alive or busy.

Peter on the other hand is cool Tongue I like what the writer's did to his power and that he can only use one at a time. His power was too much for a good guy. Usually the badies are suppose to be stronger, that way there's always evil to stop. So yeah, I like now I like Peter's character a bit more.

Although neither two are anywhere near my favorite characters (shocking), I'd like to see Peter remain and Claire go if one has to leave. Let's face it, all Claire can do with regeneration is fall through windows, bash through glass, get hit by (massive object) and readjust her limbs. That's something that went pretty stale in Season 1. Toughened up yes, but nothing compared to Peter's toughing up in my opinion. Peter's smartening up too now, he's going to have to strategically pick up the ability he needs for the situation he's going into. No more "omgz I'm the uberpowed" and flying/teleporting in to save the day while shooting lightning bolts and telekinetically throwing people/objects around and regenerating gunshot wounds.

Oh and.... I really have to shake my head at celebrity relationships.

yup, my vote would be for claire to leave the show.  in season 1 i really disliked peter and loved claire and her whole storyline (trying to fit in at school, normal teenage angst, finding out her father was a company man, etc.)....

fast forward 3 years later and now i'm digging peter's newfound maturity (and slightly better acting skills) and every scene with claire makes me roll my eyes!!
 Roll Eyes

she just thinks that she is so misunderstood and above all rules and always acts like such a victim in every single episode.  i swear, every time she talks she uses the same EXACT low trembly voice filled with frustration and emotion, "why don't you just listen to me?!"  UGHHH!!  i just made up that line but i could totally picture her saying that.  don't get me wrong, she does that 'act' really well...but that's her only voice.  she's like a played out one trick pony.  i find her very unlikeable nowadays.  too bad.  sorry hayden Sad

I totally agree with the first part of your post. The writers are just making up reasons to keep her around. Like the last episode; They waste time showing her applying for (and getting) a job at the comic shop, only to have her go on the run by the end of the same episode....totally pointless waste of airtime.... Roll Eyes

As for Peter he's always been my favorite. Which at times can be very frustrating since he's always been such a bonehead. I for one wasn't happy that they've limited him to one power, though it is making him smarter. And I'm holding out hope that eventually he'll have multiple powers again. Sylar needs a polar opposite to balance him out.

Personally I'm thinking that Peter now has the same power as his father, he just hasn't realized it yet. I think this is what Angela whispered to Nathan that made him not go after him.... Wink

i don't think thats possible since Nathan can still fly, Matt can still read minds, and Tracy can still freeze stuff. Peter's father would take their abilties completely.

Perhaps Peter's power will develop into Arthur's ability over time. Just like with Peter's original ability, he could only use the copied ability whenever the original owner of the ability was nearby, then he could use the ability at will, etc.

But of course, just speculation here.

Yeah but I don't think Peter knows how his power works now. So far he just touches people then releases. But what if he held on a bit longer?

Even if Peter knew that he could permanently take a power, would he? Having Arthur's ability would pose a moral problem for someone like Peter.

Even if he doesn't have Arthur's power, I wonder what would happen if he grabbed Sylar. Would he absorb all of his powers, or just one random power?

For me, Claire could leave.
  1) Although peter have been quite...clumsy at a times during this season, i fell in love with him in the first season, and try to keep my faith in him.
  2) I liked Claire in the first season, then came the second, i thought that she was okay, and the third... the best thing she did in third season was to give her power to Sylar  Grin

So yeah, Claire. But it still would be weird to see her leave. When the powers dissappeared during the eclipse and claire got into hospital, though part of me thought how cool it would be for her to die, it still felt odd.

i don't have anything against Hayden, but Claire... Undecided
But i don't want them to pull another Niki/Jessica/Barbara/Tracy=Ali thing

And i'm not saying, that breaking up with your boyfriend wouldn't be hard - i don't have any experience, though -but isn't it a bit...unprofessonal refusing to work with him? it could do damage to the show in some case. Maybe not now but it's still a possibility.

I agree with that too. It's a bit unprofessional and childish.

I'd rather see Peter go. To me, Claire is inconsistently great. She has great moments and annoying moments. Peter is consistently average. He always looks and sounds far too serious than he needs to be. It's his only on-screen reaction, but he's not terrible. Claire seems like a work in progress, and while I know a lot of people will disagree, I think this week was a great Claire week. I think the Claire character is getting a nice push forward, to the point in which it's helping other characters evolve (pun unintended). I'm a big Nathan fan but he's been unimpressive this season. Now he seems to have real purpose (FINALLY).

As a side note, has anyone noticed how dangerously close the last portion of this volume is getting to the future we saw in volume one? Not that--that's necessarily a bad thing. In fact I kind of like it. So long as not everything is duplicated.

I found this thing from a finnish internet page. There's an interview of hayden Panettiere -I'll bet that it's taken from some other magazine or something - and i'll translate it you as well as i can:

"Heroes-star Hayden Panettiere denies back-stabbing

The young actress who has become known from the show Heroes has been recently on the magazines because of more negative reasons than usually. Now the young lady has deined the magazine-rumours herself.

First Hayden Panettiere got mad to a photographers in a gala-night, and after that she was claimed for trying to throw her 12 years older ex-boyfriend Milo Ventimiglia out of the Heroes-series, becasue she doesn't want to have anything to do with him. Hayden told these to be cockamamie rumours.

- We're still very close with Milo. We enjoy each other's company and will keep working together, Hayden told to OK!-magazine.

Meanwhile the producer of the series, Tim Kring, told, that neither of the stars are leaving the show. He pointed out, that the final decision of the goings and comings of the charters in the series are up to him."

I'm sorry if there's something weird in it, but please don't be mad at me: finnish is a hard language  Cheesy

And then there was one thing about Hayden freaking out when a photographer had touched her shoulder on Hawaii, but it didn't have anything to do with this one, so...

And although i don't think that many of you understand anything - that was not a insult - i'll put the link here:

On a side note, I think it's so unprofessional of Milo and Hayden to refuse to work with each other on set.  Roll Eyes The poor writers, directors etc are going to have to struggle to work around this. If they end up having to kill off one of these two characters because of a lovers’ tiff them I’m going to be really annoyed.

Thanks HiroesFan for posting that article, I had read it before and was about to post it until I saw it on here.  I don't really know or believe if they refuse to work together.  It sounds like some sort of made up rumor.  Though it could also be true as well, it just seems like it would hurt there career making some kind of demand like that.

On that note, neither is really a fave of mine but I would hate to see either of them leave.  I understand how fans could get bored of Claire but I'm still waiting for that badass future Claire to come shining through.  And Peter has gotten better in my opinon this season also.
