Another fantastic episode. I was hoping they wouldn't disappoint in the conclusion of the 2-parter, and they didn't. Lovely, lovely, lovely. But a couple things still weren't explained. Are everyone's powers reset? Or did they return just as they had them before? Does Arthur still have all of his? I'd assume so, since Sylar has his telekinesis back... though they've always been vague about that being his original power that he didn't have to steal back last time when he was cured by Mohinder's blood.
Cute scene between Sylar and Elle in the beginning, although I'm curious where they managed to rustle up a big cushy blanket in an empty house. And good catch, Zachary! When Elle was shot Kristen flung herself backwards, but he kept her from hitting the ground quite nicely. Wonder how many times they had to practice that.
This is another beautiful episode: I loved the shot of the eclipse reflected in the shattered glass in Nathan's cell. The colors of the semi-darkness were lovely, and the scenes in the jungles of Haiti were gorgeous, too. And I loved the edit between Sylar and Elle running through the supermarket and the shot of Samedi pulling the captive girl along through the village. Very pretty.
I loved that Flint was still using a lighter as a torture technique even after he lost his abilities, and I'm not too sad that the big lug has been taken out of commission for awhile. This is the problem with being a bad guy: they turn on each other so easily.
Which, apparently, is now something you have to worry about when you're a good guy, too. Interesting moment when Nathan told the Haitian that no-one should ever have to make the sacrifice he had to make by killing (or taking down) your own brother... Something he and Peter have dealt with several times in possible futures. And you just know it's not going to be the last time Peter and Nathan are pitted against each other! Nathan's revelation in the jungle was unexpected and yet believable, what with all the flip-flopping this guy is prone to. Now this should be interesting. Brother against brother, yet again!
"Dude, this is... dude." Breckin Meyer and Seth Green were once again phenomenal. And hysterical. "The Bozos" were great together, and interacted wonderfully with their comic book heroes who showed up in their store. Seth Green's pep talk was super cute, convincing PeterPan!Hiro to come out. The other adorable part of the scene was the fan geek moment of the two Bozos discussing when exactly Claire Bennet and Hiro Nakamura have met before. I swear I've read that exact exchange in a couple of these discussion boards. ;-) "Kirby Plaza doesn't count--they never even spoke to each other!"
Sylar! Sylar! You slit Sylar's neck! Undo it! Undo it! And yet I was pretty unconcerned with Claire's demise. Felt bad and all, but didn't really care about the fate of the series. Sylar... now that would have been a tragedy. And oh my lord, Sylar killed Elle! Right? Or not? Did he stop part way through? We never saw Elle actually dead...? I liked the two of them so much! Why are they making us keep Matt and Daphne and their parade of unbelievable emotion and then have Sylar and Elle and all their incredible chemistry self-destruct? Sylar and Elle's emotional, s*xual scenes aren't even that flashy, considering what else you see on TV these days. The reason their scenes are so electrically charged (no Elle pun intended) is because of the actors and the way they play off of each other, not because we see butt crack and almost-nipple. I loved Kristen's delivery of, "You're hurting me..." It worked on so many levels--he was hurting her physically and emotionally. Their scenes are so fabulous, the writers have to let us keep them...right? (Total fake-out with the Elle-as-Noah's-mom thing. But I suppose that future has been shot to hell at this point.)
Bits and Pieces:
* Nathan and Samedi's scene was good, in the jail. Nathan's French is still all kinds of terrible, but both actors turned in very nice performances. * Daphne has cerebral palsy! Poor thing! I'd have thought she'd have more symptoms than just the gait, though... * Hayden Panetierre was fabulous in her "death scene". She's really an amazing actress. With an amazingly bad wig. Please don't make me beg anymore! Get rid of it! * Go Haitian! Now do we get to know your name? * Matt and Daphne finally interested me during their scene in the cornfield, and by the time he affectionately called her "Speedy," I was sold. * I'm glad Mohinder lizarded out before Maya could get sucked back into the storyline.

Y'know, at first I was totally bugged by the bad French, thinking it was a failing on Adrian's part, then I decided to blame the accent coach Heroes hired, because they obviously did a horrendous job, and then I finally realized... Of course the bad French accent is on purpose. Nathan's the kind of guy who would learn a language as a kid and never bother to try to get the accent right. Peter, on the other hand, would go out of his way to perfect his inflection and accent if he were speaking a foreign language, I would think. This series is pretty good about languages, so I figure if they wanted Adrian to speak perfect French they'd have given him a coach and gotten it done, not let him fumble with the same three lines from French 101. "I am American. I am your friend. My name is Nathan Petrelli."
Still, that doesn't change the fact that it hurts my coeur to hear him butcher the language--even if it is on purpose by the writers and actor. ;-)

GoldenGait: I did appreciate the light of the eclipse, but I think I am going to have to watch it all again because I didn’t quite notice it as well as you did! Good eye! And I didn’t know Hayden had a wig, I just thought her hairline was odd like that. He he he Manderlin: Nathan’s French wasn’t too bad, especially for someone who lived all his life in the States. Pepe Alonso: I noticed that too! In season 1 actually, when Hiro and everyone else in the States were affected by that first eclipse. Then again, we are accepting to believe in a world where powers exist, so maybe we just have to believe in a world where an eclipse actually is a global phenomenon which it is really not. Or maybe it’s alien spaceships and this is where the powers come from ha ha ha Two great reviews: http://saharsblog.wordpress.com/2008/12/04/review-heroes-season-3-episode-11/ and http://loyalkng.com/2008/12/02/heroes-season-3-episode-11-%E2%80%9Cthe-eclipse-part-2%E2%80%9D-review-your-the-badman/
