HUH?!- if the company operates under a 'one of us, one of them' policy then why the heck did meredith and thompson hook up? don't they both have powers?
- who does the haitian REALLY work for? he seems to have loyalties to angela...but then again sometimes he follows his own agenda.
- who is that doctor guy that lied to angela and is keeping arthur alive? what is his part in the whole story?
- what the hell is going to happen to hiro now?!?!?
- why was nathan so adamant about taking linderman down? something deeper than just crooked politics?
- Utusa is DEAD?!? i'm just saying...

- Thompson doesn't have powers. I don't know who started that rumour, but it was never true.
- The doctor looks familiar, but really he was manipulated by Arthur. The old man does that sometimes.
- Hiro will now follow the path Ututututsu told him would be his. He refused to make his own destiny, so he gets what's coming. I presume this will mean he is powerless and taken in by Pinehearst.
- Linderman is a mobster. Remember how he always hired Jessica to make hits on people?
- Utustsut needed to die because nobody could spell his name

LOL - "Utututututsu"
Xccessiv hit the nail on the head about my problems with this episode. This was by far my least favourite episode of the Season, but nothing could disappoint me more than some of the episodes in Season 2. I didn't hate it, and thought it was a decent episode in some aspects. Brought a smile to my face alot, to see how certain things led to things. I really loved the transitions from an old Season 1 scene we'd seen before to a current scene. So ironic that Meredith started the fire that Claire rescued the man from. When they were in the train cargo, i was just thinking: "Hang on a second, that train part looks SO much like the one Claire rescued the guy from, the scene is even the same with all those flames." Yet somehow, I never anticipated it would be that. It just didn't occur to me. The Meredith/Flint story was what really engrossed me this episode; and what I thought had the greatest depth and consistency. Loved how both her and Thompson jumped out of the train as it blew up behind them.
However: I did notice that Meredith wasn't really trying to hurt Thompson. I saw this more of a plot device, but I think they're trying to show that Meredith is a really good person, who doesn't try to hurt others as much as she can.

Thompson has a heart!

Thompson has a heart!! Where did that suddenly come from? I was quite shocked by this sudden change of character. The way he made the decision, and what he said, really made me question Thompson. I think there is a lot more about him we really don't know. This episode showed he was looking out for Claire, outside the orders of the Company or the Petrelli's. Nothing from Season 1 or before contradicts this, so this is a solid revelation. Now my question is why? I'm very curious about this. I'd like to know more and I think we haven't seen the last of Thompson.
I didn't have any problems with the Arthur/Angela story. That was quite consistent too, but didn't have the impact on me, I thought it would. However, I do think things were a bit rushed and elaborated. And I still think there is more to this story than meets the eye. The whole stealing socks thing that Angela did is still a big unresolved question mark, and that's why I believed this section of the episode.
Now for the rest of the episode: what the hell happened? The Sylar/Elle/HRG part of the episode didn't make any sense! I was about as convinced as an Aethiest is about the existance of God. I thought when I was watching the trailer that, this had better be the future, or else it doesn't make sense AT ALL. Sylar & Elle have clashed twice, and they're trying to tell us in those 2 times, Sylar didn't realize that Elle was that girl who stopped him from killing himself and helped his transformation into Sylar, whilst he was cutting her head open???! WHAT THE HELL?! Elle was this girl tortured by her dad to be Psychotic and all... how she was last season, then suddenly she's as sweet as pie, and can so easily alter her personality when last season, it seemed like a mental illness she couldn't control. It was if the writer who wrote this episode hadn't seen Season 2 at all, and had picked the show up from Season 1 Episode 15. If it had been placed there, it would have been believable. On the plus side, Zach & Kristen finally got to work together.
I've noticed that every Episode 8 of each Season turns out to have 1 storyline that is incosistent with the rest of the Season, and ruins the episode. So from now on, I've chosen to ignore those storylines and pretend it never happened. Like the whole Peter after the explosion. I'm just gonna fill in the blanks myself - what makes sense to me.
If you ignore that shamble, the episode was great. I don't think it was as bad, or as awful as people have made it out to be. It certainly wasn't bad enought o even make me consider not watching anymore, or not watching next week. The cliffhanger was the most anticipation-inducing cliffhanger we've had so far. It really does make me want to see the next episode, and the trailer even more! However, killing off Usutu was a bad move; He had a big fanbase, and I think that could be possibly lost after this episode.
When I first started this review, I thought the Usutu death was quite stupid since he could percieve the future events and his death, but then I remembered how Isaac accepted his death, and I also considered how Arthur took Peter's powers, so will have the Precog ability as well in various ways. Furthermore, since he has Prophetic Dreaming, which seems to extend into other people's dreams, he could have gone into one of Usutu's Visions of the future, like he did with Angela, and kill him from there. Anyway, that's another thing to speculate.
