Kensei is quite smart--fabulous way to keep the time-bender in one spot: dope him to the gills with opium. Nicely done. Poor Hiro: "Why is everything so purple?"
At this point in the series, after so many randomly--and often briefly--intersecting threads have brought different characters together it's nice to see them meet up again and acknowledge each other. Case in point: the reunion at the Company with Mohinder, Matt, Nathan, and Niki. Nathan and Niki's reaction to each other was particularly amusing.
Oh, badly done exposition, both on the writers' part and on Milo's. We've been catapulted into the future with Peter and Caitlin, yes, and we're intelligent, so we remember how they got there. No need for the awkward recap.
How does Bob know Matt's abilities are the same as his father's? I would assume that there are different levels of abilities and it's entirely plausible that Matt's power ends at mind reading. Does Bob know more about Matt than he knows about himself because of the tests run during his Company kidnap first season?
Love the shot of Peter and his escort in the future, staring out over the bagged deceased. Isaac's ability was amazing--he could see that this would happen far into the future, and that it was connected so closely to the other events occurring "now" for the rest of the characters that he placed them all in the same series of paintings. Very cool.
Angela and Peter's Future!Discussion was a beautifully done scene by both actors, and I loved the way it was shot, too. Peter's tripled punch of the table was great. And since it wasn't expressly explained, I'm going to assume his memory was restored by reading the mind of his mother... Because she was able to supply him with memories of his past? Or is this how her power works? Can she heal people's minds? Does she have the same power as the Haitian (who we know she's worked closely with before), or does she have the opposite power to him, being able to restore what he takes? I'm assuming she has a power because of her use of the word 'us': "You're the most powerful of us all."
Bits and Pieces:
* Love the green tint to the opening for the Go Green with NBC week. * Boy, the writers and producers really figured out they had an untapped goldmine this season, huh? Yet again we have a shirtless Milo Ventimiglia. I think the count is now up to four of the seven episodes. He's nice looking and all, but a couple of them just weren't necessary. * How did they "cure" Niki? They never really addressed it. Did they inject her with the virus? Couldn't have, because she's still got abilities--her strength. But is Jessica gone for good? And how did injecting herself with the virus stop Maury's hold on her? * Weepy Blonde Moment of the Week doesn't go to Niki or Claire this time, it goes to Matt for his choked-up confessions at Molly's bedside. He also rocked his nightmare confrontation with Maury later in the episode. Greg, you're awesome. * Peter's been at the Company? How'd they get ahold of him? When did the memory loss begin? Pre- or post- Company? Did they wipe him? Was it a side effect of the explosion? * Yay! No more Past!Hiro storyline! And kudos to Masi for his crestfallen reaction to the news that Kaito is dead. * Mohinder's nose is broken! And he's got a gun! We're progressing through those paintings nicely. Wish Mohinder had a bit more of a backbone, though. * And I can't tell you how much I love that we get to keep David Anders around awhile longer as Adam Monroe. Very cool. So is Claire going to live forever, too?
