Update: Sticked. I thought the writers strike is a big enough issue to have the thread sticked for now.

In my opinion, the writers should get more. Heroes may be not making enough money due to its heavy budget from special effects and all, but perhaps they should consider the payment of the base of their storyline; the writers.

I hope the writer's don't stop their strike, and that a payment raise is what ends this. I am in favor of the writer's rebellious air.

Alternate ending could be a good thing in this predicament, seeing that I haven't particularly enjoyed the storyline of season 2 so far. Not to say that it wasn't exciting, but it hasn't given me the strong feeling of intensity/mystery season 1 has given. An alternate ending, as its name suggests, will probably be of an alternate style than what the writers' have been hoping for. So as I have enjoyed viewing their season 1 work much more than their season 2 so far, an alternate ending could do the trick.

We'll just have to wait and see how things turn out.

Or a quick, unsatisfying "fix-all" situtation. We can but hope you're in the right Undecided

Good news everyone. Despite the strike still happening, the WGA and AMPTP will begin talks once again. The contract negotiations will begin one week from today.

Quote from: Hollywood Reporter
The WGA and studio reps are headed back to the bargaining table after back-channel dialogue facilitated by CAA partner Bryan Lourd helped put the parties onto a more productive track. The WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers put out brief, identical statements Friday night that said contract talks would resume Nov. 26.

No other details were provided, and a press blackout was instituted. But it's clear that the emotion-charged issue of new-media compensation will remain front and center when the talks resume.

Despite the planned resumption of talks, the WGA intends to continue its picketing and other strike activities. Negotiations between the WGA and AMPTP broke down Nov. 4, and strike pickets took to studio gates the next day.

Picketing will take place as planned Monday and a big writers march is planned for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on Hollywood Boulevard. No strike activities will be held the balance of the week, but that's only because none had been scheduled due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Pickets will reappear the same day negotiations resume. WGA West president Patric Verrone alerted guild members during the weekend that their picketing obligations remain in place.

Well apparently Fox's top shows this season (minus 24) are still going to air new episodes after the holiday break. It really makes me wonder why this didn't/couldn't have happened with Heroes. Sad

I'm not sure how far along they are along in the negotiations but the strike is sure taking so long.
The writers are great and should get what they want.

I'm glad Jay Leno is back on though that's my other favorite TV show.  Grin

It's been over two months.

Props to Letterman's company, Worldwide Pants. He and Ferguson are back with all their writers, due to WWP giving the writers what they want. Leno, Conan, and Daily are back, but don't have any writers. Watching some of the stuff Friday, it shows. For example, Ferguson felt like a well-produced show. Daily felt like a train wreck.

Hopefully things settle soon. I hope more companies follow Letterman's lead.
