An Abrupt End?According to TVGuide.com, season two of Heroes might be in danger of ending early. Due to the prelude of what could be a writers strike, the Heroes crew will be filming an alternate ending for the mid-season episode, airing on December 3rd. If an agreement isn't made soon, the new ending will likely air, and the season will come to an abrupt end. Sources confirm that the show is going back and shooting an alternate ending to the Dec. 3 episode that, if used, would allow the episode to function as a season finale in the event of a strike. Originally, the episode was only supposed to serve as the conclusion of the current "Generations" arc. Should an 11th-hour agreement be reached and a strike averted (fingers crossed!), the alt ending would likely be scrapped. Source- Deceit, HTV Media

It pains me to say this, but the writers strike has started. In other words, time is of the essence, and if things aren't settled soon, season two of Heroes will end on December 3rd.
Update: According to various reports, none of the Heroes writers are among the rather large picket lines. This doesn't necessarily mean they're NOT on strike, but it does seem odd, considering Fox and Warner Bros. make up quite a bit of the line. Sadly, as long as writers within Universal are striking, I don't think we'll see new episodes of Heroes (past December 3rd) until this gets resolved).
They have about a month to come to an agreement. Thank goodness for mid-season breaks. Hopefully a deal will be made, and the cast and crew can get back to work over the break.
