San José del GuaviareAll of the inhabitants of the remote village located to the south of the Vaupés River were found dead by hikers exploring the mountainous zones of the Chiribiquete National Park. The couple prefered to remain annonymous.
Exploring the scene in greater detail, they discovered dozens of bodies, which showed a a film-like substance around the area of the eyes.

A medical team was sent to the place, but have not yet announced the cause of the tragedy.
The area, which for a long time has been believed to serve as a hideout for the Cartel of the Borjas, is known as rich in natural resources.
Many of the indigenous inhabitants of these regions speculate that the residents of the village were used as pawns in the dispute between the Borjas and a group of construction workers planning on taking possession of parte of this remote region.
