In the commercials advertising the new season it says that it is the final five chapters.  Does that mean that Heroes is going off air?

nope, it means the final five chapters of this Book (or season)

the second season will not necessarily deal directly with all the same characters we are dealing with here... we very well might have new "heroes" to watch

yeah, the commercials aren't advertising the next season, they are advertising the last episodes of the current season

I think its great that they are doing it this way.  It leaves us all to guess what may happen next and it leaves the door wide open for the characters/writters to move the story down different avenues.

I am glad to hear that.  That is what i thought at first but the more i saw the commercials the more i wondered.  I also think it is a good idea to do it this way because it leaves things wide open.  although i would hate to see some of the characters go because Nikki and Claire aren't bad to look at.

I was wondering the same thing but searched on the web and saw that they are safe from any cancellation for 2007-2008. .  so we're good.
